#1232 TDES Newsletter, NZ PM’s Taser Threat, All Whites Coach, - ment

Show 1232 Monday 5 July
Watch today's show at YouTube or BlipTV.

Hi, I’m Sarah, welcome to The Daily English Show.

Today I’d like to tell you about our newsletter. We decided that it would be a good idea to send a weekly update of what was in the show the previous week.

I think this will be good for people who watch the show in batches, or for people who don’t have time to watch every show, but want to keep up to date and maybe watch the shows that are about something they’re particularly interested in.

It will also help people who are looking for a show that they want to watch again. You can look through the list of shows in the newsletter and hopefully find what you’re looking for.

Also, if we have any news - like, we’re taking a break or something like that – then I’ll put that at the start of the newsletter, so you can keep up to date with what’s going on even if you miss a few shows.

So please go to thedailyenglishshow.com and sign up for that. You can see on the left hand corner, under the eyes, it says tdes weekly update. Just write your name and email address and click on subscribe and then go to your email and confirm your subscription and that’s it.

There’s an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter so you can easily unsubscribe at any time if you decide you’re not interested in receiving it anymore.

And apologies to the people who signed up for the newsletter last month. At first we were using a different newsletter service, but then I discovered it wasn’t very good, so we changed to a new service. So those people will have to sign up again. I’m sorry about that, but it only takes a few seconds, so hopefully you won’t mind too much.

conversations with sarah
#785 That’s pretty sad

Step 1: Repeat Michael’s lines.
Step 2: Read Michael’s lines and talk to Sarah.

Michael When did you see the All Whites coach at the airport?

Sarah It was on Friday.

Michael Were there lots of people there?

Sarah No. There weren’t. There were two fans. Me and this little boy with an All Whites flag.

Michael Really? Only two?! That’s pretty sad.

Sarah Yeah, there were lots of media there though. But I don’t think people actually knew when the flight was coming in, because I don’t think the papers published it. I couldn’t find it, so I emailed, ah, NZ football to ask.

Michael And they told you?

Sarah Yeah, they replied straight away.

Michael What’s Ricki Herbert like? Did you talk to him?

Sarah No, I just got my photo taken with him. But, he seems really nice.
