#1225 TDES In Hebrew, YouTube Vs Viacom, Sarah On Google Street View

Show 1225 Monday 28 June
Watch today's show at YouTube or BlipTV.

Hi, I’m Sarah, welcome to The Daily English Show.

I hope you had a good weekend.

I have some great news. A new site has been started for translations of The Daily English Show transcripts into Hebrew.

So that is very cool – and thank you so much to the people involved.

In case you didn’t know, there are many sites that people have made to post translations of some of the shows.

So far we have:

Japanese
German
Italian
Korean
Russian
Bulgarian
Spanish
Ukrainian
Polish
And now Hebrew.

Translating transcripts is one good way to study. And if you start a site for scripts in your language, please let us know so we can link to it from our site.

STICK NEWS

Kia ora in Stick News today YouTube has won its battle with Viacom.

Viacom is one of the world’s largest media companies.
In 2007 they sued YouTube for copyright infringement.
They said YouTube knowingly allowed offending content to remain on its site.
Last week the lawsuit was rejected.
The judge said that Google was protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
Viacom said it would appeal the decision.

And that was Stick News for Monday 28th June.
Kia ora.

Cheeky buggers!
Let's sue them!

Shouldn't we delete these videos, Chad?
No way, dude. They're making us famous!

Yippee!

BRING IT ON!

#780 How did you find it?

Step 1: Repeat Cody’s lines.
Step 2: Read Cody’s lines and talk to Sarah.

Sarah Did I tell you I’m on Google Street View?

Cody No. What do you mean?

Sarah I mean … you know what Google Street View is, right?

Cody Yeah, but what do you mean you’re on it?

Cody Really? Where? In Auckland?

Sarah No, in Japan. It was near my old place in Kutchan.

Cody How did you find it? Did someone tell you?

Sarah Yeah.

Cody Wow, out of it. Were you doing anything dodgy?

Sarah No. I was just walking down the street.

Cody Do you remember seeing the camera?

Sarah No, I don’t. That’s the weird thing. I’ve seen them in other places, but I don’t remember seeing one there.
